Attorney Jefferson Long Jordan

Attorney Jefferson Long Jordan was born on September 7, 1921 to Rev. W.S.T. Jordan and Leatha Long in Arlington, Georgia where he grew up with his siblings, Walter E. Jordan and Dr. Ann W. Jordan. He attended Wilberforce University and received his B. A. degree in 1943. After graduation he was a Junior Officer in the U.S. Army and served with the 92nd Division in World War II. Jefferson attended the University of Michigan Law School and earned the J.D. degree in 1949.

He interrupted his legal work in Detroit to study operatic music and pursue his literary in Italy where he resided for 14 years. Jefferson returned to the US and worked for the Wayne County Road Commission retiring as Assistant General Counsel. Jefferson Jordan died on February 6, 2002.
