Aldous McCrory is an Associate Professor in Business Administration and Management at Northern Virginia Community College - the second largest community college in the United States. He is the 2019 recipient of the Edward Anderson Teaching Excellence Award. In 2020, Prof. McCrory earned a Northern Virginia Community College, Teaching Faculty Reward and Recognition award. In addition to full-time teaching responsibilities, Prof. McCrory is the College Senate Parliamentarian, Business Discipline Group Chair, Business Management Program Review Committee Chair, Manassas Campus Convocation Committee Chair, Manassas Adjunct Professional Development Committee Co-Chair, and Phi Beta Lambda co-advisor.
Prior to joining the faculty at NVCC, Prof. McCrory spent almost ten years as the Chief Executive Officer of The McCrory Group, llc, a management consulting firm focused on creating and enhancing value for healthcare organizations. The McCrory Group identified innovative solutions to complex issues facing the healthcare industry, then sought creative applications for those Innovative solutions which lead to the realization of new value for the organization.
Prof. McCrory practiced corporate law for 15 years, including five years as in-house counsel during which he led a team of senior executives that reduced total risk program costs by over 60% in three years.
Mr. McCrory earned a Bachelor of Arts. from Emory University, Juris Doctor from University of Notre Dame Law School, Master of Taxation (LL.M.) from the University of Alabama School of Law, and Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University. He has served as Vice Chairman of the Erlanger Health System (Chattanooga) Board of Trustees, Vice Chairman of the Cohutta Banking Company Board of Directors, Vice President of the Board of Trustees for the Greater Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, and Chairman of the Blue Ridge Area Health Education Center Board of Directors.
